WELCOME TO VICTORIA MARRIOTT ART

A successful business owner and keen outdoors woman, Victoria has had a long-held passion for art. Having explored the notion of becoming an artist at a young age, it would be several years before she finally let her imagination loose on canvas.

For over a decade Victoria (Vix to friends) has channelled her energy and creativity into XIV, a successful hair and beauty salon in West Yorkshire. With a dedicated team behind her and no small amount of tenacity, Vix has finally built a dynamic business which affords her just enough free time to paint.

Contemporary Art

We all share a love of abstract art, whether we realise it or not. Colours, shapes and textures make us smile, but we seldom ponder over why. If a canvas pleases your eye and speaks to your heart, find a home for it on your wall. The “why” will come to you eventually.

Technique

The alchemical nature of fluid art makes this technique like no other. I feel like a mad scientist when I paint.

Results

Designs usually go as planned. However, a final piece of work may not always turn out as intended, such is the nature of fluid art. Sometimes the painting itself can be quite wilful.

Inspiration

Many things in nature have a fluid appearance. Landscapes, clouds, rivers, and even galaxies inspire me to paint.

Effects

Fluid art takes advantage of the reactions between different paints, pouring mediums and pigments. The artist “encourages” these reactions to reveal cells and layers on a canvas backdrop.
